Caramelized Onions

Ingredients:

  • 6 large onions approx. 2 pounds, any kind, I prefer white onion
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ tablespoon monk fruit golden sweetener optional, see note
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large non-stick pan, cook onions, butter, olive oil and monk fruit golden sweetener over medium-low heat.
  2. Stir frequently until golden and caramelized. (About 45 minutes).
